Matt's Message

Thank-you for visiting our web site. Shaco has developed several software applications over the years to address different industries and each of these applications is provided with its own dedicated section of the web site. These individual sections are filled with information about the software, including a guide to creating a suitable environment, an interactive support feature and resources that will improve the users’ rapport with their software.

History

Shaco Enterprises Ltd. was formed in 1997 as a partnership of Phil Cowan and Matthew Shaw to develop and support a new Microsoft Windows based package for Weed Man Canada. The developer, Chad Hosick was guided by Phil as Chad wrote the application using Phil’s extensive knowledge of Weed Man lawn care processes having developed a previous version of the software and having been one of the earliest Weed Man franchise operators. Unfortunately, Phil passed away in the year 2000 and we consequently lost one of the great promoters of Weed Man and a renowned lawn care specialist.


Shaco is fortunate to have two powerful and insightful resources to work with. Both Weed Man Canada and Weed Man U.S.A. have driven our flagship, Weed Man software (WEMMS.Net) to the forefront of lawn care software offerings and in doing so have given their franchises a huge advantage in a very competitive industry. The Weed Man operations continue to grow at an impressive pace and we are honored to be an integral part of this organization and share in its success.

What We Do

Foremost we are the developers of industry specific, management software. Our software by its nature is the core component in the administration of our customers’ offices and it is vital that the software work efficiently and that its operation is well supported. Not surprisingly then our software development is augmented by yearly support contracts that are offered to all of our software customers. We have a dedicated team of technical and administrative support personnel who work directly with our customers to resolve their software issues and to guide them through the many options provided in the software. The franchise operators that we work with have an open management policy that allows each of their franchises the opportunity to use their own management model. As a developer this means that our software must include multiple features that are used selectively by the franchises resulting in multiple operational options to choose from. Our yearly support also includes the automatically installed software updates that are made throughout the year. Our software is very much a “work in progress” whose content is determined by the need for superior features that provide advantages in both usability and marketing techniques.


Training is our “other” essential service that we typically provide at the time of purchase of our software, although we do offer teleconferenced, interim courses for new employees and for specific and sometimes complex procedural software requirements. Our software trainers also support our products and they consequently include in their instruction many of the numerous issues that occur in the daily operation of our programs.
